Adib Nassar, B.Sc, MBA
Founder, President & CEO

As a seasoned executive with a broad-based background in private and non-profit organizations, Mr. Nassar’s career spans over 30 years in the consumer healthcare and manufacturing industry. Throughout his career, he held key technical and senior business leadership positions in the global retail and multilevel markets.

Prior to founding USHSP, Mr. Nassar successfully built and led several organizations in the field of consumer healthcare and manufacturing. Backed by an extensive experience in a range of functional areas, including product development, technology assessment and transfer, operations and business management, his focus has been on nutritional supplements, functional foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals, packaging and flavor and fragrance products.

As co-owner of Western Flavor & Fragrance Company (WFF), a leading manufacturer of flavors and fragrances in Northern California with a state-of-the-art building (GMP), Mr. Nassar was personally involved in designing the plant. Following the successful sale of the company, he joined Nutrition 53 as a COO, a nutritional product manufacturing, marketing and distribution company to retailers, distributors, online and other channels of trade.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Nassar spent twenty years with Shaklee Corporation as Director of Product Development and Packaging and Engineering, overseeing their exploratory and business development, functional foods development, nutritional supplement development, process engineering, package engineering and their R&D facility. He was instrumental in the development of new weight loss product lines and technology transfers such as probiotic products that encapsulate live bacteria using natural ingredients.

Mr. Nassar received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Biology from University of Notre Dame de Namur and his Master in Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in Operations Research and Marketing, also from University of Notre Dame de Namur. As a multi-lingual executive, he manages in English, French Spanish and Arabic.

A passionate soccer player, coach and referee, Mr. Nassar served as President of the Soccer League, Dublin, California, and as City Planning Commissioner for the city of Dublin, California. He was awarded “Citizen of the Year” title by the business community.

Dr. Massood Moshrefi is the Co-Founder of USHSP and its Chief Science Officer. Dr. Moshrefi leads the company’s research & development efforts and spearheads the new product development, scientific research and oversees the clinical studies. He is a senior executive with a compelling record of new product launches within the nutritional supplement, food and beverage categories, and a background of matching consumer needs with new technology opportunities. A scientist at heart, he values a comprehensive, consumer-centered and value-driven approach to product development.

Dr. Moshrefi’s broad experience in the field of nutritional sciences ranges from developing new ingredients to manufacturing dietary supplements and directing all aspects of functional food & beverage development and manufacturing. His products are regarded as innovative and exceptionally effective. Dr. Moshrefi takes the skill of formulation to the next level, creating formulas using advanced technologies and novel ingredients to bring to market unique new products.

As an expert in the field of Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry, Dr. Moshrefi has been granted various patents in food and ingredient technologies. His comprehensive product development work comprises a variety of product lines and covers physical, chemical and sensory testing.

Dr. Moshrefi’s clinical research portfolio includes clinical trial design in key health areas, such as weight loss and blood sugar management. His approach to an overall clinical development strategy meets the standards of excellence for ethics, scientific merit, and regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining USHSP, Dr. Moshrefi was Vice President, Operation & Technical Services, at Interhealth Nutraceuticals, a leader in the research, development, and manufacturing of nutraceutical ingredients. Previous leadership positions include Director of the Engineering & Technical Services division at Shaklee Corporation, where he was instrumental in transforming a research and development organization to increasing nutritional product commercialization. Before joining Shaklee, Dr. Moshrefi served as Vice President of R&D at Pacific Nutritional Products where he led the developed of functional foods, such as low calorie products.

Dr. Moshrefi received a PhD in Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry from the University of California, Davis, a Master of Science degree in Food Science and Technology form California State University, Fresno. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the Institute of Polytechnic in Teheran, Iran.
